Charity / Fundraising
Wearing Christmas jumpers is so much fun that it’s often easy to forget the real reasons behind it, it’s all about raising awareness and money for the brilliant Save the Children charity. Unbelievably, the charity has been running for 100 years, they do an amazing job protecting children and their rights. With 2019 being their centenary year they’ve set out a new 3-year strategy, we want to help them reach their targets by spreading the word and promoting xmas jumpers.
How can I raise money?
The first thing you should do is head over to the official website and sign up, now you can download a fundraising pack (There are packs available for individuals and schools). Getting involved is easy, you can take part at school, at work, or just do it with your family and friends. Simply get as many people as possible to wear their Christmas sweater and donate £2, this can make such a difference to children’s lives around the world.
How to submit money?
Once you have finished raising money, they make it super simple to pay in your fundraising, you can do it a number of ways. You can pay online using a secure form, pay in at the bank, pay in by post or transfer the money from your bank. For full details please view the official website.
How will your fundraising help?
A donation of £2 can pay for the antibiotics required to treat 5 children with severe pneumonia, it’s crazy to think how much we can help when everybody comes together. The charity helps in several ways, from providing essential food and healthcare to education and general protection. The charity is based in the UK but it helps children globally, together we can support them to build a better future.
How to get noticed for your fundraising?
If you and your fellow fundraisers have gone to great effort to wear amazing jumpers, then you probably want to share it with us all. You can do this by sharing your picture on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #christmasjumperday
It’s a great opportunity for businesses and teams to share their photos and get recognition for their efforts as a caring and fun organisation.
